Ok, i just got my PowerBook 12 inch a couple of weeks ago. I take it to school and when i get bored I like to play games. Since versiontracker.com took away the feature of top downloaded games(only for paying subscribers) i cant see whats good anymore. Tell me what games to load this baby up with. Plus, I'm not talking about games you buy, i dont want to play those. I am talk about the cheezy 5 meg shareware or freeware games that will keep you busy more than my warcraft ever will. so far i have tux racer, super collapse and frozen bubble. what else should i load it up with?

Here are some of my favorite games

1. Bubble Trouble X - addictive as hell - also my favorite game.

2. Bejeweled - tetris style game

3. Pop Pop - breakout/ arkanoid clone

4. MacMame - an emulator that support over 3000 games at the moment including street fighter alpha 3 and marvel v capcom. Highly recommended.

if you have .mac, get super nisqually.

look into abandonware - i have been having a blast with my old friends sim farm, sim tower, and oregon trail. pm me and i'll give you a link to the site.

thanks guys, i already got all the .mac games. ive got it pretty loaded up now with games. i just put my copy of warcraft 3 on there, although i pretty much hate the game but i find myself playing it every now and then. maybe if i get accecpted into the beta ill play it some more.

Hey ijohn you should go to macgamefiles.com they have a zillion little freebies/shareware etc you can try and fiddle with and are of small file size. taeclee 99 mention some that my wife plays daily but you have to buy them. on the other hand they are very cheap!

try to find quinn.

it's a cocoa tetris clone in wonderful aqua colors.

i've played it for hours.

I can recommend Escape Velocity, or EV Override, or the newest EV: Nova. The EV series is some of the greatest games I've ever played and I even own a pc. I've spend hours and hours exploring the universe, completing quests for the different alien species upgrading my spaceship/ buying better ships, sometime even beeing a pirate. It's a very open and fun game. HIGHLY recommended. I've only played EV and EV: Override. Override was the best and the biggest of the two. I think Nova is even better.
And guess what the EV games are only available for mac. It's shareware and available for download at www.ambrosiasw.com

Sceenshot from EV: Override

You might want to take a look at the Nova page at www.ambrosiasw.com and see if there is a update/patch to the game available which you haven't got. That would probably require that you started a new game though.

Still I don't think it's a flaw, some of those missions can be pretty hard... Maybe try to approach the mission a different way...?

Btw: I just wanted to say that I think the EV games (At least Override and Nova) beat the crap out of Warcraft 3. They are so much more fun and addicting. W3 is boring imo.

Try this

One of my personal favorites is BooM from Factor Software. I played it in the classic OS on my old 68K machines, and now it's available for Power Macs and OSX. Really addictive. Lots O fun!:D
