I recently downloaded the Office 2007 Beta2 just for kicks and giggles, to judge and laugh at all the glaring problems I *just* knew were going to be there.

Well I was WRONG. The new UI, as crappy as it looks, is amazing. I fell in love with it immeadiatly. It's organized, clean, nice to look at, and does away with stupid menus and places everything on one bar, i think they call it the ribbon. Anyways, I think it was one of the few steps that didn't make Microsoft stumble as they took it.

What scares me is that now I'm super psyched about Vista, which is gay, because I want a Mac. I can get all those features and more right now, instead of waiting months and months. But now that I look, I am loving the future Windows world more and more! I'm zomging over here, I don't know what to do, I look at my PeeCee and think, hey I can wait for Mac functionality and save me 3 grand, !!! You think I should worry? Is there hope that Leopard will make my head explode with amazingness? Help like OS X again!

Just some advice, but it has been said that, to increase performance, and make it arrive sooner, many "amazing" features have been cut out of Vista. So you will be waiting until probably 2007 for a machine that still cannot beat OS. The pretty cool way of switching between apps has apparently beeen cut for performance issues...

So what u realllly want to do...is GET A MAC

EDIT: And i jus thought....BOOTCAMP Get a super good looking Mac, run brilliant OS on it and, and!! Install Vista via bootcamp, best of both worlds...

flip3d is crap, it provides no additional functionality over alt-tab it just looks slightly prettier, but not even that much due to the nasty jagged edges.

I can't see the difference between vista and XP, except for that REALLY cheap copy of expose and spotlight

There. Now I am more eager to respond.
Basically, get what you need/want without worrying about it seeming "silly". And who says you can't get a Mac just because you want Vista? You have a few options where that is concerned-Virtual PC (slow as hell but it works) or boot-camp. Take your pick.

I have been testing Vista for months. It hasn't impressed me much. The GUI, while nice, is still lacking in almost everything.

The sidebar is absolutely terrible, and it still won't recognize some networks. Vista still has nothing on OS X.
