Help (messed up my husband's iPhone)

I messed up my husbands Iphone, apparently. lol

We recieved it from Mobile Karma and it was perfect. Until I put it on itunes which tried to activate it, but we did not want the $30 charge every month. Now the phone is locked 'cept for emergency numbers.

I have tried pwnage, winpwn, redsnow, and quickpwn. They all need .ipsw and I don't have any. I tried downloading said files but it never works. Not even the custome ones.

Anything that I can do that would be simple and take away this headache?

Sounds to me like you should just sell the phone.

Jailbreaking and unlocking the phone will possibly get you a cheaper data plan, but it still costs $$$ to use a data capable cell phone.

That's not entirely true. It's possible to use the iPhone without a data plan even if you have a contract with your cellular provider as long as you don't mind blocking all cellular data and using it solely on wifi.
