My iMac is refusing to shut down, restart or launch front row and various other things! I tell it to shut down from the Apple Menu, nothing happens, I tell it to restart from the Apple Menu. I tell it launch front row by pressing menu on the Apple Remote, I get nothing by the remote and apple + esc. The volume, mute, and eject keys on the keyboard don't do anything, they won't even show they symbols on the screen!

Please help, i'm starting to get worried. :(

Have you tried a hard reboot (holding the power button for a couple of seconds, then turning it back on)? If that doesn't work, and you don't have anything important that was not saved just take out the battery and disconnect the power cord. Also try Apple + Option + Esc to force quit applications.

I tried force quit from the Apple Menu and it did not do anything, I might try restarting from the power button.

I have tried to restart from the Power Button, and I am pleased to announce that it is working perfectly as normal! :)
