Any advise at this point and time is greatly appreciated. I have a 4GB iphone. The phone doesn't turn on anymore. If I plug it into the computer...nothing. If I use the power adapter, the phone will turn on, then shut immediately off. If I use the power adapter and docking station, the phone powers on, then shuts off...repeatedly, non stop. The Apple logo appears, turns off..it keeps doing it over and over.

Could this be a dead battery. I picked one up on ebay, but before I open this up, I wanted some input.

Thanks

The lack of any details/information is amazing. Kreskin the Mindreader will be by shortly to help you.

Flhusky, use your physic powers and help me then...is that detailed enough for you.

The phone is turns on, shows the Apple logo, then turns off immediately. It keeps doing this non stop with the power adapter and dock. When the phone is plugged into just the power adapter, the phone turns on, shows the Apple logo, then turns off. If you plug the phone into the computer, it does not do anything.
The final one....read slowly..................................it does not power up at all when trying to use without anything connected.

I'm trying to put this on an elementary level for you.

IT'S UNDER WARRANTY! DO NOT OPEN THE IPHONE.

It appears you have tried to hack the iPhone unsuccessfully, or otherwise damaged the software. Have you try restoring the software?

yeah plug your iphone in to your usb, hold the home and sleep button till it goes in the restore mode, Itunes should launch and restore your iphone.

I bought it used, so it has already been opened. I can't put it into restore mode. The phone will not come on when plugged into the computer, and as soon as I remove it from the power adapter, it shuts off and will not turn on without being connected to the power adapter.

Bought used (abused) off eBay: Strike 1
Knows it was opened and still bought it: Strike 2
Now has a Brick for a phone: Strike 3

So other then being out $300 for a phone what else did we learn?

Was the phone Hardware hacked?
Was the phone water logged and cleaned up enough to work for a few weeks?
Did the phone get dropped?
Was the phone exposed to a strong magnetic field?
Did the OP try to downgrade/upgrade the firmware?
Did the OP try to mess with the baseband firmware?
Did the OP use some cheap no name car kit and fry it?
Did the OP use some cheap charger and fry it?
Did the OP loan it to a 'friend' that broke it and is now trying to fix it?
