Hey guys, i have a 3G iphone. 3.0.1
unlocked and jailbroken

i just noticed about 1 hour ago that my screen display has shrunk.
it used to fill up the whole screen, now there is a black border around my display.

it seems like this a box of dead pixels around my display. it is really annoying.
has anyone had this problem?

i'm pretty sure it wasn't always like this.
i tried to take a picture of it but it's not coming out clear on the camera so there's no point in posting it..

thanks.

There is a very thin border, it's normal. You just never noticed it before.

Try a reboot and let us know if that fixes it.

i tried this. but i can still see it

i think i figured it out...

my battery was dying and i guess the display dimmed so you can see the border.
but now that it's charging i can't notice it as much..

so i think that was that.

Took me forever to find my login info so sorry about the late ish reply.
I noticed that the other day when I was walking out, too, and freaked out of course.
Got home and totally forgot about it, but now that you brought it up, I just checked my phone and my brother's phone, we both "have it".

From adjusting different lighting in the room, it seems to be a border near the display, but actually does not have diodes to display anything. If you tilt the device, you'll actually notice the ring have a different color than the part that displays content when the lcd is not lit (IE: stand by mode).

I don't think it is something to worry about, until more people start to notice it and find that new devices doesn't have this ring...
