A few days ago my Mac started acting up. First my password for a disk image wasn't working. I thought I simply forgot it, and after many attempts it finally opened (with the same password). Then I couldn't log into my admin user account with my master password. I had to reset my password with the FileVault recovery key. And now today, I can't log in again, and this time the computer refuses to even save my new passwords after I provide the recovery key. My Keychain is now de-linked (I tried clearing that too) and I can't log in unless I use the recovery key! What is going on? Please help.

Almost sounds like your drive is failing and causing corruption. Try starting Disk Utility and select the drive then run First Aid. Does that show any errors?

No errors. I called Apple and they said I can try (1) disabling and re-enabling FileVault or (2) wiping my drive and reverting to a backup. I tried Option 1 and it appears to have worked in general, although I'm having some minor Keychain issues now that hopefully I can resolve.
