Ok, earlier today I wanted to get rid of my dashboard and I was on some forums and they gave me some instructions involving the kill dock command, etc... I was doing a few things to make my macbook run smoother and now whenever I start it, it resets itself. Like the wallpaper is the same, all the applications are there....But when i click on any of them its as if it was the first time they were started, like i click msn and it asks me what my email address is, I click on firefox it asks me if i want to make it my default browser, etc... Also other things are reset, my mouse cursor is slow, I have to reset all the prefs, assign my right click on the mighty mouse.... I know one of you knows what I did....PLEASE HELP!

more info

Stuff like the wallpaper remains, but all applications act as if they have never been run, another example is my itunes...I turn it on and there is no songs on it, i have to re-load them.... I changed my dock to appear off screen, then when i reboot, it's back to the way it was originally.... S.O.S.

Are you changing the name of your home folder? I am new to Mac too and was doing that. You CANNOT do that. If you want to change your home folder/short name, you must make a new user account.
