Help: My own music is labeled as Apple Music.

Hi,

I have iCloud Music enabled I also still have a running iTunes Match subscription. I now added dozens of MP3 files to iTunes.The iCloud status of these new songs is listed as "Apple Music" instead of "iCloud Matched" or "iCloud Uploaded". When Apple Music expires in two weeks, will I still be able to listen to my music??

I heard about this issue in iTunes 12.2, but it's supposed to be fixed. I'm at 12.3 however.

Any ideas?

I had the same problem today - it looks like with the last itunes update, when you downlod music that you own and uploaded to the cloud, it is associated with apple music and downloads a a protected file. I'm feeling done with this whole mess and ready to go back to using amazon music as my cloud provider of choice.

do u still have the originals ?

I think the issue was users using iTunes match their songs were be indirectly matched with Apple music, which i thought was fixed.

No it's not always fixed.

Apple has seriously lost it this time around. This is not a simple "innocent" bug. They are basically indirectly stealing or taking possession of your own music, by applying their own DRM.

I can't wait for Sep 30 to arrive and kill my Apple Music subscription FOR GOOD.

Well I have once more turned off Apple Music on my other computer where I hadn't upgraded itunes yet ,and everything is fine again. So I guess the lesson learned is don't allow itunes updates unless I am 100% positive that itunes match functionality isn't being messed with. None of this is worth the risk of using Apple Music, I'll happily stick with my own library and Pandora One.

When I upload an album to Apple Music I add ''1'' at the end of the name of each songs so Apple Music doesnt associated the songs with Apple Music catalog. When the song are uploaded I correct the names of the songs in Itunes. It's annoying but it's better than nothing.

It's not better than nothing - what's better than nothing is turning Apple Music off of my computer and not using the broken, buggy service at all.

That's what i do, and its ok if your collection is not huge, but a nightmare it if is.

2 months Apple.

i thought the worst thing was correcting Apple music albums, in your playlist, then 30 minutes later their messed up again... ....
