I'm a big fan of LEGO Digital Designer and also participant of LEGO Ideas. My last project took me a lot of time to design and build and all I got out of it where low res screenshots from the LDD app itself.

Anyway, I decided to take it a step forward and give it a try to make photo realistic renders but with my new iMac and OSX Serria, it's getting very frustrating to make this happen.

I tried it all. Installed apps like LeoCAD, Bricksmith and Ldraw. Also downloaded the brick libraries and tried stuff like uninstalling JAVA and re-install a different JAVE plugin just like the documentation tells you to do. Butt still, stuff doesn't work. I managed to export a build to a povray (.pov) file and tried to run that as a render but it gave me all kinds of errors. And I failed to make Bluerender run trough Terminal.

I'm almost giving up here and after all this, I decided to make a topic about it. Maybe somebody here wants to help me and check with me step-by-step if my set-up is right. And I also could use some help with the first renders, tips advice. Anything to get me started.

I'm willing to share my screen if it's needed and a fast way to fix things. As a bonus, you'll get to see my new project. :)

I prefer something easy to use like Bluerender. It should be able to run on OSX with Terminal.

TLDR: I need help to make beautiful renders from my LDD files!
