iPod help needed for restoring contacts from iphone backup

hi all
i ve my old iphone 3gs' backup on my pc, i sold that iphone and i have my ipod 5.5 now, and i want to restore my contacts from that iphone backup is it possible if so how? please tell me because i need my contacts now, or is there any other solution to extract those contacts from that backup
