Been followed OCLP guide on downloading macOS Sonoma on both internal and USB flash drive as photo 1. Having new os installed , iMac restarted and shows as photo 2. As instructed to restore from Time Machine, as photo 3, problem comes in connecting to WDMycloud as photo 4 shows. iMac is now stuck and I can do nothing to revert to previous version. Please help 🙏

I am unclear what you mean by "having new os installed"? Your screen shot in step 1 shows Sonoma is not installed. You need to select the "EFI boot" and then "install macOS Sonoma" on the next screen. After Sonoma is installed, when Sonoma boots you will have the option to migrate from a TM backup.

Not sure why the restore is not working. Do you have another computer? Can you connect to the file server from another computer and connect to the backup disk?

Thanks for your reply.
I have macOS Sonoma installed on both the USB flash drive and the internal disk as shown in step 1. I selected the “EFI boot” from the USB, then “install macOS Sonoma” shows on the next screen. The iMac automatically reboot, then recovery screen with 4 options shows. I had the option “Install macOS Sonoma” continued, continued to set up, had the software license agreed, then the screen shows as the attached photo. I can go no further in the setup.

Concerning “restore from Timemachine”, I can connect the WDMycloud with windows PC, but not from iMac.

I would like to restore back to the previous version, i.e. Big Sur . Any suggestion to how? Thanks for your help

I have encountered a similar issue where the installer does not recognize the internal disk. I determined it occurred because of a macOS installer version problem. After I initiated the installation, I encountered a problem during the installation so the install aborted. When I attempted the installation the second time, the installer could not see the internal disk. I determined the problem was because the first attempt was done using System Update, which downloaded the latest version of the macOS installer which was more recent than what I had installed on my USB drive. I wonder if that is going on here? Did you accidentally start the initial install using the System Update? If that is the case, the update may have attempted to install 14.3.1. Confirm if the version on your USB installer is also 14.3.1. If the version on the USB disk is an earlier version than the version that was first attempted, it could be causing what you are observing.

I do not understand why the restore is not working ... perhaps OCLP is interfering somehow with it. Instead of booting the OCLP EFI, try booting the macOS installer and see if the restore works?
