So all of a sudden, I simultaneously lost today:
-front USB functionality, completely (can't see any USB volume; no working mouse or keyboard either)
-rear USB functionality, partially (can't see any USB volume, but keyboard/mouse work)
-bluetooth: not available. I used to use my trackpad, luckily I could find an old mouse to work with;
-and above all, no starting volume choice possible with ALT key. No EFI boot accordingly. Keeps restarting on my Master volume: no volume to choose to start from.

I have the Inateck KT4004 USB3 card installed which works very well, this is a good point. I could also find a Bluetooth dongle. But what bothers me, it's that I can't choose my starting volume (which behaves normally in Disk Utility). Tried another keyboard: same thing.

Any idea on how to deal with is very welcome. Thanks in advance.

My machine: see signature.

i had a similar issue when none of my USB ports were working (except keyboard and mouse) and as often as an SMC reset doesn't help, it solved my problem. May give it a try. The no boot screen issue makes it seem software related and wasn't happening for me.

Thank you s-hatland once, twice, thrice :eek: ... thanks a million!!! :):):)
Everything, boot screen included, came back to normal :cool:

Thank you maflynn for taking from your time and trying to help :) To tell the truth, your idea was also mine in the very beginning, but I didn't feel very happy to talk about ;)

So, many thanks to both of you :cool:

Problem solved :cool:
