I downloaded the mac version of AIM from the site. It came in a .bin file and I can't install it. It tries to open it in quicktime and it fails. any help???

Select the file, select Get Info, and tell it to open all files of this type with Stuffit Expander, then close the window, then double click it.
 
Or you can just open Stuffit and drag the file into the window. Or drag the file to the Stuffit Icon.

If you don't have Stuffit Expander, you can download it. Bear in mind that you already have an AIM client on your Mac called iChat. There's also other programs out there for talking on AIM as well, such as Adium.
 
i heard stuffit comes with Mac OS X now so I didnt have to download it till now and I can't seem to find the program through my finder.

Stuffit is not included in the latest version of Mac OS X (Tiger).
