Help needed with display scaling issue on 2010 Mac Pro

Hi

I'm new to the forum so i'm not sure this is the right place to post but......

I have a Mac Pro 2010 with a GeForce 120 card 512. I've plugged in a new monitor which has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 but the Mac stubbornly refuses to send a signal of that size that isn't heavily pixelated. Anyone out there have any clue as to why?

Glad you solved the issue. But, maybe other folks on this site are having the same issue. It may be helpful to other folks if you detailed how you fixed it.?

Of course. Good point. It was a faulty monitor new out of the box. Back to base and the the new one was fine. For reference it was an AOC Q3279VWFD8. A hell of a monitor for the money if you get a good unit. We were unlucky first time. Second one no problems so far.
