So I just bought a used MBA off of ebay knowingly that it doesn't include a hard drive. I was wondering, does anyone know where I can purchase one? It doesn't seem that they are common and I don't want to spend a fortune on it. I know there is always the Runcore option but does anyone have advice for a standard HDD replacement? Thank you in advance. The model number is MC233LL/A

I have seen where people have purchased std. hdd drives for less than $100. Look at all of the Chinese wholesale component companies. Maybe even just look up the part number on Amazon, NewEgg, and etc.

I noticed iFixit sells components for MBA's. Maybe they have what you need. Trouble is, it seems many of their prices are on the high side, but it's worth a look.

I checked out iFitit and their prices were pretty steep. I managed to find this 120gb Samsung for only $89.99

I wonder if this is the same stock drive Apple uses. Anyways, I ordered that and I will hopefully have it before the weekend. Now to see how smooth this installation and everything goes. Wish me luck.

Let me know how it goes. I got a free MBA with 2.13 GHz and 256 GB SSD to "test" for a third-party drive supplier. I am free to sell the MBA, but I don't want to give up the SSD in case I want it for the next MBA update. I wouldn't feel okay with selling it with a 256 GB prototype SSD anyways. If yours works, I will probably add one of those to this one and dump it on eBay or CL before the update comes. If the last two updates are any indication, it's better to sell BEFORE the update.

I sold my other v C MBA, as I am using a Lenovo ThinkPad x301 until the MBA gets updated... not even missing the MBA at this point. Very happy with typing on the ThinkPad.

I plan on selling this one also, after I install the new hard drive. I will let you know how it goes.

Hard drive comes in the mail on Monday, so hopefully I will bring good news Monday night! Does anyone have experience with MBA hard drive removals/swaps? I feel pretty confident doing it but will I run into anything tricky?

I haven't received the package yet, The UPS tracking number just shows billing information received. I just called the place and the man on the phone told me they were out of stock. You've got to be kidding me. Now time to wait for my refund to come and try to order somewhere else. Two thumbs way down for that company.

I was planning on that for my next move. I was thinking about a SSD but the only one I can find is a Runcore for $189.99. I can't justify spending a buck ninety for only thirty gigs.

No, I bought the Samsung HS12YHA of 120GB (for me was a 50% storage upgrade); but mine has the PATA/ZIF conector and the one that you need is SATA II

Check at that site, maybe they have the disk that fits in your MBA.

Greetings.

Surprise, Surprise....the hard drive was dropped off by UPS yesterday after a representative told me they were out of stock. Anyway, I have no clue how to connect the drive to the actual cable strip. I tried many different ways and disk utility isn't showing any drives when installing OS X. Any help anyone?
