Help needed with Home and End keys

I'd be grateful for assistance in figuring out how to get my Home and End keys to function like my PC keyboard.

They simply do not seem to work. I'll be at the beginning of a line of text wanting to get to the end of the line, type End, and nothing. I'll be at the end of a line of text wanting to be at the beginning, type Home, and nothing.

The only time it works is when I am using MS Word.

I have an iMac G4 running the latest version of Jaguar.
