I have a beige G3 266 running system 8.5, and a Blue white G3 (accelerated to G4 500)running OS X that I want to network with a crossover cable. Ive used a couple online tutorials to get this to work, but something's not right.
In the File Sharing control panel on the 8.5 G3 there is no Allow users to connect via TCP/IP option.
In the Appletalk control panel there is no Ethernet option- just Printer Modem and Remote Only. Is Remote Only the Ethernet option? Thats how I have it set. Also there is no Appleshare icon visible in the Chooser!? I have my 8.5 G3s hard disk open for sharing, but it doesnt show up on the OS X when I Connect to Server
Any Ideas?
Thanks!
Glen
