Today my brother was playing with my jailbroken iphone 5 and decided he wanted to upgrade to ios 7. He chose to reset it on the phone and now it is has the spinning wheel of death. I try to plug it into my laptop, but the laptop doesn't detect it at all. I turn on itunes and it is not there. I took my cousins iphone 5 and plugged it in, and it was detected, however mines does not detect. In addition to this pickle, my power/wake/sleep button has been broken for some time now. I followed the instruction by redsnow on how to put it into dfu mode, but how would it help since my laptop doesn't detect the iphone from the beginning?

HELP PLEASE!!!

Have you tried to restore an IPSW via Redsnow? You can also create an IPSW for DFU mode and try to load it on the device. iTunes should be able to detect the phone if you get the DFU IPSW on there. Otherwise, I'm out of suggestions.

Try kicking it out of dfu with redsn0w or tinyumbrella

If jailbroken with evasi0n it should not allow the ota restore function

Yes I did jailbroke it with eVasion. Ota? Sorry I'm new at this.

on the earlier comment, I followed these instructions:

I did everything, but when it came to itunes and restoring it, the phone was not detected and I couldn't even click on it to try to restore it.

Thanks for your input.

OTA=over the air restore on the device itself.

Try Tinyumbrella

Can't even do that because the laptop doesn't detect the iphone. Maybe I'll let it die since the wheel is still spinning and try again.

After my phone died, I connected it to my pc and it started.. all is good!

Thanks everyone!:)
