Help! OpenOffice won't open!

I have a spreadsheet I have been updating occasionally on my Air for years.

I just went to open it got a notice saying OpenOffice is from an unidentified developer........and my Security Prefs state i only accept Mac App store and identified developers.

How do i get it back open and running?

You need to allow apps "from anywhere" in your security preferences.

But change the settings back after you have opened Open Office once.

Or simply, ctrl/right-click the app and click "Open". You will get the "Are you sure?" dialog. Gatekeeper will remember the exemption.

Also might want to look at getting latest version of OpenOffice: that version might be signed, and has security fixes.

LibreOffice is signed, if I recall correctly.

Indeed I discovered that one can control click open, and it just asks for a name I think just to label docs in OO.
Then clicked the old file in spotlight and it came open as hoped.
