Help Please, Autodesk CAD

hi i am a student studying in england and i use Autodesk inventor. i am in the process of buying a new laptop and i think im going to go for a mac, are they good for CAD or am best going for windows (although i much prefer mac's). what is the cheapest and or best way to get autodesk on my laptop? using parrallels or bootcamp, baring in mind im in the UK (dont know if that makes any differance) thanks and sorry if this has already been answered elsewhere. I have looked into this before and I though you could probably run it on a MacBook fairly easily your best bet would be to get a MacBook Pro mainly due to the dedicated graphics. Also, boot camp would probably be the best avenue because this would allow you to have the bulk of your system resources devoted to the Autodesk software. I'm not familiar with Inventor since I am primarily an AutoCAD/Land Desktop/Civil 3D user but I know that the packages that I use run ok on a MB but are much better on a MBP.

On a similar note, I did just fine with my PowerMac G5 and Virtual PC while in college though at sometimes it was quite frustrating.

AutoDesk Inventor doesn't work in Mac OS X. It is made for Windows.

Your MacBook will run it just fine once you put Windows on it with Bootcamp.

thanks, cant afford a mac book pro unfortunatly. I assume you have to get a copy of windows im guessin XP would be the best one to get. If im gonna spend my time researchin and typing up essays and occasionally on inventor as all i can get is the cut down student version so im guessing i would do most of my designs on the full system at uni, so am i best gettin a PC on windows OS or a Mac? And if a mac is it worth spending the extra for the 2.4 Ghz and 2GB RAM? thanks again
