Help Please - Can Mac's Connect to Tivo?

I've searched and just haven't found anything that really answers this question.

If I have my Tivo on my home network, is there anyway I can get content from it and then import to iTunes so I can put on Apple TV and my iPhone?

I've seen some threads about Roxio Toast but there are tons of complaints!

Depends on the generation of TiVo. I have a UK Series 1 hacked to work in NZ and TivoTool connects to it quite nicely. I can stream the live buffer or any recordings off it and transfer recordings and convert them to a variety of formats. Of course, the Series 1 TiVo was pretty open and hackable, later ones aren't.

I use Roxio Toast and it works flawlessly to bring TiVO stuff to my Mac. As far as getting it into iTunes for iPhone or whatever, you might try Visual Hub. I will try it tonight to see if it works. Visual Hub allowed me to add it to the queue, but the time remaining was long. I'll report if it works.

Using TiVoDecode Manager you can transfer programs from a Series 2 to your Mac. From there you can probably use iSquint to convert the videos to an iPod or ATV format.

Toast seemed like the brainless choice - but . . . then I read all this!

Mine's a Series 2. I was going to use an ethernet to USB adapter to hook in to my airport.

Ok, I hadn't noticed some of those issues because I don't burn DVDs from the TiVO recordings. I can play mine on my computer and transfer just fine. I tried the video conversion with Visual Hub and it didn't do a good job (image was half-visible and half-garbled). I wonder if this is due to some issue with the TiVO update. I will see if I can convert the file some other way.

I didn't even notice this post. I tried this method (although I used visual hub and not isquint) and it worked fine. You might give it a shot as this is a free method.
