iPod Help, Please! CD Burning Problem...

i have an iMac with Pentium and have never had problems burning CDs before. Recently i've tried to burn two separate playlists to CD and both times it failed giving me this message:

"The attempt to burn a disc failed. The device failed to respond properly, unable to recover or retry."

Then i tried to burn an older playlist which i have already successfully burned to a CD. It worked just fine which is really strange. i downloaded the update of 4 August and tried again but i get the same message. the playlists which won't burn have no songs in common but both have recently purchased songs in them. other than that there's nothing different about them. any insight into this problem would be greatly appreciated.

wow, so nobody has heard of this problem? perhaps i should re-phrase my question:

is there any reason why certain (recently purchased) songs in my iTunes cannot be burned to a CD (while older playlists still burn fine?)

Try using a different CD perhaps? Maybe the media is a bit dodgy.

Otherwise it might be likely that your cd drive needs replacing?
