ALright so I had a jailbroken iphone on 1.1.1 a while ago. I tired to update to 1.1.2 using oktoprep and something went wrong. I restored everything, but it went to 1.1.2.

I then downgraded successfully and reupgraded blah blah blah and had a jailbroken iphone running 1.1.2.

Yesterday, no joke, not looking i accidentally clicked restore. I tired the exact same steps to downgrade as before (twice) but unsuccessful both times. The beginning phases work. I got myself to installing oktoprep on 1.1.1 After I installed okotoprep and then click upgrade to 1.1.2 I get an "Error 11602 your iphone can't be updated" or something close to that. I am still running itunes 7.42 and have not changed anything. Why am I recieving this error message if I did it successfully once? So I had to restore and now I have 1.1.2 with no 3rd party apps. Anyone know how to fix the error I am now receiving?

i would say you need to update windows or you did something wrong. Are you using a mac or pc? If mac use independence its out of beta it will guide you throughout the whole process of downgrading and upgrading.

I know that the jailbreak program for 1.1.2 from Conceited Software has been updated.

The same thing happened to me like three days ago lol. Just try downloading the newest jailbreak program and then start over, restoring your phone to 1.1.2 before you downgrade so it starts on a clean slate.

Itunes 7.5 or 7.42

Should I be using itunes 7.5 or 7.42 when doing this process?

It is recommended in many guides to use iTunes version 7.4.2. Follow this guide it is for PCs but it is almost the same process for Macs.

By the way, many times a simple Reboot of either your PC or Mac is what does the trick. That what helped in a problem I had iPhone related.

Recommended by some, true, but I am the System Admin at my company, and I have jailbroken upwards of 50 iPhones... If you are using Independence 1.3.1, it works flawlessly with iTunes 7.5.

As long as you follow the few simple steps, you should be fine.
