Okay let's get right to the point. I have an 2.4 GHz iMac (Aluminum) 250 GB HD 1 GB RAM. I have installed smcFanControl, but I don't won't it any more. But, I think I have a problem when I quit the application, and start compressing videos, rendering videos in Final Cut Express I don't hear the fan starting to run, like I sometimes hear on YouTube videos. Like they are, for example, ripping a DVD using Handbrake, then I hear the fan running. I think that I messed up the fan system of my iMac. Can anybody help. Thanks in advanced.

I'd imaging a lot has to do with the ambient temperature the Mac is located.

i.e. if a Mac is encoding video in Mexico the fan is likely to come in sooner than a Mac encoding video in Manchester - especially this week!
