Weird, I haven't picked an iphone up (hopefully this weekend *crosses fingers*) , but I was pretty sure there was tons of talk about not being able to drag and drop and people complaining they could only get songs/videos onto the phone via a playlist? I might be going nuts, so this works for video as well?

thanks

My iPhone won't let me drag and drop songs onto it... Is there somthing special I need to do to make it work? My iPod works just fine with drag and drop.

I use a playlist, haven't tried the drag-and-drop method. IIRC, when the iPhone is connected, the music property tab lists all your playlists and you pick one to sync.

Personally, I'd love for it to have an autofil ability like my iPod Shuffle. I have a lot more music than 4GB, and would like to configured it to autofil, say, 2GB worth of music. (Obviously need to reserve some free space for incoming emails, new contacts, and the like!)

I just named a play list " iphone playlist " in iTunes. Then draged all the songs I wanted to be on my phone to that playlist. When i connect my phone to itunes i select the option that says only sinc with selected play lists, and i just select my iphones playlist.

I had a 4GB originally and then returned it for an 8GB and I could drag and drop on both units. Are you highlighting the songs you want and dragging it right over on the iPhone image?....cause thats all you gotta do and some of my songs are ripped, some are from iTunes and I have no problem with either of them...

I can't drag and drop either. At first I thought it was because I was syncing under the music tab. I disabled that option, and still drag and drop doesn't work.

Another interesting thing, after unchecking sync songs, all the songs were deleted from my iPhone, however, it still registered about 423MB worth of "audio" in the bar on the bottom. Are the ringtones taking up this much space?!

I can't drag and drop either. Nothing from my library will drag over to the iPhone icon, the music icon under the iPhone, or anything. Had to do playlists and sync to get any music on it. Same on my girlfriend's separate computer and her iPhone.

Edit- just tried unchecking the "sync music" option and then dragging and dropping, but still no avail. You can hold a whole set of highlighted songs over the iPhone icon and no green plus comes up and no transfer ever happens.

It's a well know fact that you CAN'T drag and drop songs directly onto the iPhone. Everyone has been talking and complaining about it. Not sure how some people are claiming they have done it that way.

I just use a playlist.

Do the drag and drop people have an iPhone or are they just assuming? I don't get it either... I'd love to see a screen capture of the drag and drop working.
