HELP! Recently bought iPhone Blacking out and Freezing

So I bought my 16GB iPhone Sunday on O2.......... and so far its been absolutely amazing....... to now!

This evening it has just started locking on my home screen, then it blacked out then it came alive. Its pretty much locking and I cannot do anything about it!!

Any help?

Have you done a complete power cycle? If nothing else you could do a reset (hold power and home button for 10 secs).

I held down the power and home screen and it seems to have done the job!

What is a power cycle?

And anyone have any idea why it has happened?

A power cycle is when you turn the phone completely off by holding the top button down until the red slider comes up and ask if you want to turn off the phone and then turn it back on.

I remember when I first got my phone it would occasionally freeze and I was told that a power cycle would most likely fix it and if it didn't to bring it in to the Apple Store.
