I run Lightroom, and I do most of the shooting, editing and keywording.

My wife likes to have her own photo library, so I move output jpgs to her.

She likes to find the photos, then upload them to various services. She also does basic cropping and very basic levels adjustment.

iPhoto has really bogged down on her machine. The faces detection, the fact that there's 13K photos, etc. It's just a bear. I'd like to get her something much quicker and much more lightweight.

Any suggestions? I think PSE comes with Bridge, but I was wondering if there were others. Does Aperture run a bit quicker/cleaner than iPhoto? Maybe it doesn't use "faces" facial recognition?

Thanks for any help/suggestions. This is a 2009 White MacBook probably running SnowLeopard.

Also, is there any way to trial Aperture? I trialed it years ago, but it seems now that the trial option no longer exists??

***NEVER MIND*** -- I'd delete this if I could. Someone told me how to rebuild the database, and that seems to have really helped.

If you want to delete, click the red triangle to the left and just ask a moderator. However, it you could just post the instructions to rebuild the database as a second post and leave this very short thread for someone else to find if they are researching a similar thread. Glad you found a solution.
