Hi guys

Looking to upgrade the 500GB HDD in my MacBook 5,1 Late 2008 to an SSD. I don't know too much about the required specification in my MacBook, only what I have seen on EveryMac, that the storage device is SATA and reads up to 3Gb/s I believe.

Would this SanDisk X110 256GB work fine in my MacBook? I have the option to buy one shortly. I saw on a thread in this forum you have to apply a patch from SanDisk as my MacBook doesn't work at SATA III so have to apply some sort of patch to force it to SATA II?

Or can I simply clone my HDD to the SSD and basically just swap them over and "plug and play"???
