Just got off the chat with Apple.

My MM sent items for 4 years were wiped recently, as a setting I noticed was changed to "delete after 7 days" from sent mail settings. BTW I did not change this, I need this email. I have not a clue how this happened, as I discovered it when looking for an email I sent last month for proof on something, and only had sent mail since Sept 22nd. Took me a while to figure out the damage, and cause of it.

Irregardless of my stupidity; Apple cannot get it back. They say they only keep 7 days of our mail.

How does everyone back up their sent mail, or even there mail from the MM cloud if it is not stored on my mac locally?

Better yet, as I do use TM, is there anyway to find this mail on a backup?

Thanks for any assistance.

I would get back onto Apple again, chat with someone else, I have heard that the trash folder is only kept for so long regardless of the option set in mail, but not heard this about sent items (mine are stored on server and go back to 2007)

not sure how things get stored locally, but mail stores data in your Library folder, under Mail then subfolder V2 (I can see most of my folders in there but cannot read them)

Have you tried displaying you sent folder and then entering Time Machine, it should show this folder how it was (although not sure if this works properly win using IMAP)

Sorry can't be of any more help

It's not on TM.

I am going to bring up another chat, this is complete BS. A new server farm and only 7 days of mail? Hell even the new iCloud backs up for 30 days.

I am seriously in a bind.
