Got my ATV2 this december and I´ve been using it to stream my local iTunes Library and renting movies with my US iTunes account (I´m living in Sweden right now).

Recently I signed up for a StrongVPN account to get my Netflix Instant Streaming and bought a DD-WRT flashed Asus RT-N16 from Sabai Technologies to get it setup. It works really well but when I use the VPN I only get appr half of my original bandwith (5Mbit instead of 10Mbit).

I´ve read that there is supposed to exist some sort of script that you can enable in the DD-WRT router to only let the Netflix traffic pass through the VPN, all other network activities goes through my swedish ISP.

I´ve gotten pointers to use a script like this and add these instructions but I´m a total newbie when it comes to these kind of things. Anybody who can help me out and see if this even is possible and if so perhaps you can help me get it working.

Basically it's more trouble than it's worth.

You could try logging into DD-WRT and disabling the VPN when you no longer need it -- for example after the Netflix movie has started streaming.

You just need to route Netflix specific traffic to the vpn tunnel

This is a list of neworks that needs to be directed to the vpn tunnel when connecting via StrongVPN in NY:

69.53.236.0/24 - Netflix inc
69.164.0.0/18 - Limelight Networks, Inc.
174.129.0.0/16 - Amazon.com
184.73.0.0/16 - Amazon.com
184.72.128.0/17 - Amazon.com
50.17.0.0/16 - Amazon.com

Sure, some of these subnets are big and includes hosts that has nothing to do with Netflix but its too much work making it more specific :)

All other traffic can be routed locally. Tested and it works.

Cheers.

Just wanted to let veryone know that I abandoned the StrongVPN setup and is now using Unblock-us.com which will let me keep my original bandwidth (currently 100Mbit) and still enable me to watch Netflix and other stuff.

Select Traffic directed to the vpn tunnel on DD-WRT.

Hello thereal,
I need the option to selectively route traffic.
I have the default Startup Script and Firewall script from HMA Pro, setup on an Asus w/DD-WRT that sets up an openVPN connection to HMA in the US.

Can i possible see your start script and firewall scripts?

Thanks,
Quint

I have been using them for over a year and have nothing but positive things to say about unblock-us.com.
