hi all, I currently have an ipad that I use for surfing in the evening but I don't particularly care about anything on there. What I do have is a family that has all iphones and I'd like to help them back up in case of loss, etc.

I have been doing a little reading and I think this will work, but since I'm not super knowledgeable with the apple environment, I was hoping you could help look all this over.

1. Get everyone into a family group
2. Buy 200GB of storage for $2.99 under my apple id

and I think once that is activated, everyone shold be ok? We have a 64GB phone and two 32GB phones so I think the storage should be ok for now? everyone will automatically be backed up now?

Also on a side note, my wife's phone is full of photos and she keeps having to delete apps in order to take more photos. I tell her she doesn't need 10 shots of the same sunset that she will probably never look back at, but she doesn't listen.

Is there anything we can do, once we have this storage, that will help keep her local iphone storage more in check so that she doesn't have to keep deleting apps? What is the best path forward in this situation?

Download the Apple support app.

Gather your devices, Apple id’s and passwords.
Then open the app.
-get started
- scroll to iCloud
- account and set up
- family sharing

Apple support will walk you through it.
If the most efficient and safe way to do it.

Turn iCloud Photo Library on and enable optimize storage and all photos can be stored in the cloud with lower quality thumbnails on the phone which can free up some space.
