hi there,

I recently downloaded and installed lion server in hopes of creating a vpn in order to more securely log onto the internet as well as do some file sharing via my network as well as my iPhone. I did a search on google, apple communities and followed a few guidelines but had a hard time getting the VPN up and running. I have Lion 10.7.3 and am on a C2D MBP. can someone either point me in the right direction with a link somewhere or give me guide in order to set it up?

Just to help out more, my MBP is my only computer that i use. I do not have a mac mini which i noticed most guides are referencing. Also, I do not have airport wireless set up in my home. I have a verizon fios router and usually connect via wifi.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks!!

well, that makes me feel dumb and answers my questions.

Thanks!!

Now onto my real issue: what steps can i take to be sure that I am as secure as can possibly be while on the internet?

I have firewall set up, encrypted my Hard drive, Use HTTPS whenever possible, set up 128bit WEP on my wireless router but what i really want to protect against is my vulnerability while on open wifi (airports, starbucks, etc).

Is there anything i can install or adjust that will make my info and computer more secure?

Thanks for the help and for not mocking me for my lack of knowledge :)
