Help setting up OBS on MacBook Pro for Zoom meetings

Looking for help to setup a co-worker's MacBook Pro with M3 chip so he can install OBS to record (not stream) Zoom meetings. So far we are having multiple issues. I did search if it is possible to set up his Mac with OBS to record zoom but it says YES but I think we're doing something wrong, just can't figure it out. I heard someone mention a program like OBS called "Movavi" but it's not free. Looking for something free like OBS. Anyone have any advice on what we can do to get OBS to work? or is there a program like OBS we can use instead? Thanks in advance for any advice you may have to offer.
