I've been searching around, but I can't find a definite answer...

My jailbroken iPhone 5 bit the dust and the Geniuses hooked me up with a 5 running 6.1.4. What should I do, wait for a 6.1.4 jailbreak or upgrade to iOS7 and wait for that jailbreak? Pretty much, I'm asking which will get a jailbreak first...

Thanks in advance!

Well 6.1.4 would be closer as its already been a work in progress for a while.

iOS7 is a toss up, but likely it will come after the 6.1.3 and 6.1.4 jailbreaks. Worst case scenario, they are both released at the same time.

A jailbreak for 6.1.4 will not be released until the iOS 7 jailbreak is released. They have exploits and will not want to burn them just for iOS 6.1.4, they will release the jailbreak when it's ready to be compatible with iOS 7, and I'm sure they'll have it be compatible with 6.1.4 as well.

Basically, if you want iOS 7, feel free to upgrade. When the next jailbreak is released, it will be compatible with with iOS 7 and most likely 6.1.4 as well.

iOS 6.1.3/6.1.4 jailbreak is being worked on by winocm and ih8sn0w while iOS 7 jailbreak is going to be released by the evaders

The iOS 6.1.3/6.1.4 jailbreak is said to be released by year end (by winocm himself) which is probably earlier than the iOS 7 jailbreak

And before you say that's never going to be happen. The exploits being used for iOS 6.1.3/6.1.4 jailbreak do not work on iOS 7
