Hi everyone,

I've been trying to upgrade since last week, and I'm still getting an error following the download reaching 12.18gb/12.18gb. I spoke to Apple support and they don't seem to know what's going on and advised I go to the Apple store to see if they can help. Appreciate any tips that you guys have!

Last week I was contacted by Apple Customer Support Level.2. They said that looking at logs of my MBP on their server the issue was due to a Firewall in my network so they suggested to use a Hotspot with my iPhone (tethering). I replied to no have any Firewall activated or maybe only the basic Firewall of my modem/router and with Catalina it works good because I installed two times in the same day.
So I restarted my modem to obtain a new public IP, connected my MBP to the hotspot, started the download using hotspot and when it started (during download) I switched again to my WiFi. The download worked and I was able to install Big Sur.
I suggest to try with an hotspot or use my workaround and see if it works.
Hope this helps you.

P.S. If possible you can also try to activate UPnP in your config. network or if possible DMZ (demilitarized zone) your Mac.
