Heya,

So this week has been hard on my macbook.

Problems are --

1 stuck pixel -- trying a pixelfix to see if it will work.

2 crashes yesterday -- total of 3-4 in the 6 months since I bought it.
CPU running at 50+ percent - running VPL and Azureus
(think crashes and overdrive are connected)

Before this, I don't think I've ever seen the CPU go over 25% -- any suggestions why this is happening?

Biggest question though is -- I'm leaving the country (and my computer) for at least 6 months -- applecare will run out during this time.

Given the above - and the fact that I haven't experienced any other real problems, would it be worthwhile picking up applecare? checked on ebay, and it will cost me way less to buy there.

Finally, do I need to actually physically have the applecare package, or can I mail it to someone in the states (I'm in Canada) and have them read me the code?

Thanks for all help!

Mike

FYI - I phoned applecare to find out if one pixel warranted hardware replacement, and *Earl* told me he couldn't answer any questions unless I bought extended care -- I said "Excuse me, you won't tell me if I'm covered under warrantee because I haven't bought an additional product? That's absurb. At which point he started to look into it. Next, the call was dropped, and I didn't get a call back - although he specifically asked for my number in case of a dropped call.
