Hi,
Extremely happy to be on board as a new member, I've been lurking around for many years but never got around to joining a Mac for up until now because I've been mainly working with Windows. Now I've switched and I own a new MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020, Four Thunderbolt 3 ports) and iPhone 12
I've decided to migrate/leave/perform an exorcism and rid myself of all things google related and move over fully to an Apple Life.
So now I'm trying to change my Apple ID which is a Gmail account to my new iCloud account but I'm receiving the following message when I tried to edit it on my apple account page.
This email address cannot be used as an Apple ID at this time.

I don't know if this is relevant but I have added the iCloud account to my recently purchased iPhone 12.

Should I remove it because it's a secondary email?

Many thanks in advance

Elbow

You are getting that message because the ID you want to change to is being used as a secondary email. That isn't allowed. If you remove it as a secondary email, you will need to wait 90 days, if I am not mistaken, before you can use that email in the manner you want.
