I canceled my iPad 3G 250mb data plan, thinking I could reset my iPad and sign up for an unlimited data plan since I could when it was new; at least canceling and doing a reset of the network settings from the settings menu on the iPad did nothing but cost me to loose the 250mb data plan I already paid for.

How do I 'un-cancel' the data plan and get what I paid for back? Right now instead of "view account", it brings up the original sign up page asking for my information, name, etc.

Or if fully reformatting the iPad will get me back to having the option for unlimited, I'll do that. I just hadn't backed up my data when I tried this.

So first you asked if you could be grandfathered into the unlimited plan, even though you never paid for it.

NOW you've knowingly CANCELED your 250 MB plan because you wanted to sign up for an unlimited plan that DOESN'T EXIST ANYMORE.

And you expect your 250 MB plan to just what, magically undo itself, despite the fact that you confirmed to cancel it?

Just sign up again for your 250 MB plan, and think next time before you do something stupid.

Since you want to use the iPad as your main computer, so that you need a lot of data for it, the best you can do now (to get built-in data) is to sign up for the 2GB for $25.

You went cheap and you ended up screwing yourself. It's over. Admit defeat and settle.

I ended up having to reset the network settings a couple times and reactivate my account.

This time i selected the unlimited data option, i had three options 250mb for $15 , 2gb for $25, and unlimited for $30, so i went with unlimited so not to have any worries in the future.

It did take several resets, account creations, and a lot of misc other stuff but i adventually got the account created again and signed up for unlimited.

The deadline for Unlimited Plan for qualifying subscribers was July 15. Hopefully you'll be lucky to get it back if what's said above still works.

In reality, you may be OK with 2 GB, as free WiFi is starting to become available at more and more places, even whole cities!
Still, there's nothing like the freedom of unlimited service! :D
