Can someone absolutely dumb down and ELI5 on how to transfer from a Samsung to iPhone? I've never done this before.

My dad has a Samsung and he will be moving over to my old iPhone 13. I will try and be helping him only it will be over the phone and yeah, you know how that is going to go. Before it's all said and done, I'm going throw something at a wall, lo.

From what I have read, you need to download the "Move to iOS" app first from the google store onto your Android phone. Then you click on the app which prompts you for a code. On the iPhone side, you will setting up and transferring from Android and when you click on that option, you will get the code needed.

Then you input the code, follow the prompts, and ... that's it??

Really I'm looking to transfer are his contacts and maybe pictures? He doesn't use his phone that much so it's pretty much just contacts and the few pictures he has.

Using this method, his phone number will transfer over as well to the iPhone? Like he doesn't need to go into a store to activate the SIM card or anything?

Thanks

Yeah I read it and also have seen quite a few videos on YT. I think I get it, but I'm not sure. I think the biggest obstocle is trying to walk my dad thru this so I'm trying to find the easiest way to explain it over the phone.
