Help: Traveling to Italy tonight:Charging MBP

All you need is a plug for the Mac. The Mac is auto-detecting on power for 240Volts (which is all of Europe).

For everything else you need that adapter and the plug. I've been in England, Germany, and Spain and that is all you need.
 
If you have time, go out and buy the world travel adapter kit from Apple. The kit contains an adapter for the Continental Europe which will snap right on your MBP charger. I too am flying out of the country soon and went with the world travel adapter kit.

It's your safest bet, as if anything happens you can tell Apple you used their product.

Still Confused

I have an adapter that puts the american two prong into the circular europe outlet. Is that all i need for my computer because it auto detects power.

And for other deviced i need the adapter i bought?

BTW: I have no time to buy the apple adapters, i wish i did

No, you also need a voltage converter to convert volts. US is 120V - 60 Hz while Italy is 230V - 50 Hz (for other devices like hair dryers, shavers, etc.) in addition to the adapter converter. The Apple adapters are already rated for 100-240 volts so you might be good with just the adapter that converts to the european electricity prongs. However, I would still go with the World Travel Adapter Kit as a safety measure. Run out to the Apple store and pick one up.

Most adapters sold these days for cameras or your MBP are rated for 100V-240V 50-60Hz. Check the power bricks with your cameras to see what they are rated for. Any major airport will sell plug converters to convert your US plug to the European one. (usually a set because I think there are several different plugs for Europe.

Yes that is all you need. The 2 prong Europe plug is all you need for the Mac. For everything else, Get a Converter (which it sounds like you have).

As for the Mac world travel kit. Don't bother, seems like a waste of money when you can buy the small adapters for about $5.

The world travel kit is a huge waste of meny, GimmeSlack12 is right. You can buy plug converters cheaply in hardware stores, electronic stores or airport shops.
 
Have a look for one of these in those airport shops. It won't help you with voltage conversion but it will convert any plug type.
