Help Unlock 3G iphone version 2.1

Before I am massacred I have done a search and couldn't find the hack!

I am new to iphone hacking so please bear with me. I have bought an iphone 3g on 02 contract and would like to unlock it so that my husband can put his t-mobile sim and use it.

Can someone in plain english for thick people like me walk me through the process. I have NOT updated it to 2.2.1 which I assume was the right thing to do.

Help would be appreciated as I don't want to be beaten by this phone by giving in and paying £15 for someone to unlock it. Many thanks.

You have to pay in money or time whichever is more convenient for you. Pay someone to do it for you or invest some time into the process. No free luch here!

Download this firmware. In iTunes hold shift (Alt for Mac), then click "Restore". Find that firmware file, then restore the iPhone to it.

You'll now be on 2.2, do not update to a normal 2.2.1 firmware. If you want unlocked 2.2.1, I'll tell you how. And don't update to any other future updates withot checking it with these guys.

Now download QuickPwn. There are Windows and Mac versions.

Run QuickPwn and follow the very simple, easy to understand steps. 5 minutes later and your phone is Jailbroken.

Now you'll have the Jailbroken open source 'App Store', Cydia. This is all perfectly legal. Now open Cydia, and then go to Manage, Sources, Edit, Add then type in "http://apt9.yellowsn0w.com/". Go into that source you've just added, and install yellowsn0w. Reboot your phone, and it should be unlocked. Don't uninstall yellowsn0w, or you will loose the unlock.

All of this is 100% legal, free of charge, reliable, and pretty much risk free (unless you do something stupid, like disconnect the phone when it's being Jailbroken). All the links and downloads are trust worthy. I and many others use them, and have had no problems.
