Help unlocking 2G(Edge) iphone - jailbreak ok

i have 2g phone that I upgraded some time ago to 2.2 using itunes. Tired recently to unlock it to use a tmobiile sim in the US. Bottom line is that unlock does not work. I have downgraded to 2.1 and used quickpwn, i have used quickpwn w/ 2.2, i have followed all of the iclarified vids etc.

At this point, i have a working iphone (no-service att&t sim). It is running Cydia. I have tried bootnueter again.

Any thoughts on how to unlock it?

I have the same problem. Have an 8gb iphone that I've broke with pwnage (didn't work) and then jailbreak. I even rolled it back to 1.1.4 and baseband 4.04.05 and jailbroke it. I just won't work. If you find a solution, it would be a great thing.

2G Unlock failure

What carrier are you trying to use? I was trying a t-mobile sim.

2.2 2g sim

I was trying to use tmobile too. My buddy had problems with his edge internet but tmob provisioned it for him. I wonder if they have to do the same with the service? hmmm... It seems tmobile was very helpful when he called and just told him he was unlocking an iphone, maybe I'll call.

Also, were you using a sime from a G1 by chance with 3g? I am and I wonder if that is part of the problem.

phone now unlocked...



I just reflashed my phone w/ 2.2 and used quickpwn again. This time I did not/not check the box to unlock the sim. Phone is now jailbroke and unlocked.

t-mbole phone ok... I still have no data plan but everything works, sms etc.
