For about 3 years now I have been searching for my old very 1st iPhone, which I put up somewhere after the 3G came out and I could upgrade. This phone is cracked so badly you can barely see the screen, along with the fact the home black button is missing, all there is now, is a little gold button. Anyway it has a 4 digit passcode and I have NO clue what it is. Ive looked everywhere to figure out how to bypass it without restoring. I can't restore this phone because of the sentimental family pictures on my phone, the only reason this phone isn't in the trash! This phone probably has the oldest, maybe 2nd Oldest software available for iPhones. Anyone know how to bypass the Lock without restoring? Please any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

No, apple wont bypass the passcode either.
Only option is try to remember.

Why would Apple not? Thats ridiculous. I know. I should've been more Responsible. But I had the phone at age 13, now Im 18. So Ive done a lot of growing up since then. So I apologize.

Yes, I just wanna take my pics from it. But its Locked, and when I plug it up my computer only recognizes it with a popup that says i need to unlock it.
I think you can jailbreak as long as it isn't on an obscure 1.x firmware, and then delete the keychain file for the passcode.

One guy mentioned that it creates an automatic backup, so then you have to do this:
remove the key chain then remove //private/var/keybags/systembag.kb **WARNING** this will break your iphone putting it into restore mode but all you have to do is re-jailbreak your phone i use redsn0w and did’nt have a problem peace out
My warning: you may lose all your data if you can't get it out of restore mode, so create a backup.
My main issue with doing this is I have no idea how to get afc2add on there. You may get lucky and already be connected to your same WiFi, so you can just ssh into the iPhone with a program like cyberduck. Sorry, I wish I had more specific details.

apple not going to do it because yes you should have been more responsible. Also it's hard to prove belongs to you it's also very encrypted. Call apple and ask them but they will tell you no.
Don't know about an original iPhone, but I believe they all have a 10 try limit before the phone gets locked, requiring a restore.

To Manually Reset the Passcode:
1) Install any desktop software for browsing the iphone filesystem (iPhoneBrowser/iFunBox/SSH/DiskAid trial version).
2) Navigate to the directory /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/ and delete "com.apple.springboard.plist"
3) Then you can navigate to the directory /var/Keychains/ and delete "keychain-2.db"
4) After deleting the last file, reboot the iphone.
To give you an idea on how this worked, the com.apple.springboard.plist file contains the setting of your passcode turned-on. Deleting this resets the toggles back to default (after the final reboot) and takes care of that part of the problem. But since a passcode was already defined, the "keychain-2.db" file contains that information and deleting it clears everything up after the final reboot. Note that all other stored passwords you have on your iphone are also cleared along with it though.

It's ridiculous that Apple would do it for you. Don't expect Apple to do it because anyone can steal an iPhone and bring it to Apple asking them to unlock it. Does that sound right to you? I hope not.

So according to you, if it's old then Apple should unlock it even if it's stolen? What's old to you may not be old to others. I think 3G and 3GS is old therefore Apple should unlock it even if it's stolen. Note that people are still using iPhone Edge, 3G and 3GS.
