Hi, i hope someone can help me.. I been trying To update my iPad 1 to ios5 from firmware 4.3.3 but keep getting the server could not be contacted or is temporally unavailable message I have been trying for days even get this message when I try to restore it. I have latest iTunes and even reinstalled just in case there was something wrong but still no luck, anyone experienced this before?

It sounds like you might have been JB on 4.3.3- you might be using tiny umbrella, so go into the advanced tab and make sure cydia isn't checked as the host. I think that's what it is.

Yes I am JB on 4.3.3, where would I find the advanced tab? I don't mind unjail breaking if that makes any sense! But I have tried to reset the iPad to factory setting and still hasn't worked.

Apple has stopped signing OS5. So, you can't upgrade it to OS5, you can only upgrade yours to firmware Apple currently signing which is 5.0.1.

If you want to do that, just hook up your ipad to Itunes and hit upgrade. Itunes will do the rest.

There is nothing wrong with Apple server, I just upgrade mine from 4.2.1 to 5.0.1 two days ago.

Really?? But I upgraded my new iPad2 only about 1 week ago and i have iOS5 on it working fine? I am only trying to do my old iPad for my little boy!
