Help upgrading from 1.0.0 to 1.0.2

hey i have a 1.0 iphone which i activated and jailbroke using INdependence but im still with AT&T just didnt want the 2 year contract. I want to upgrade now but im afraid if i just restore it using itunes to 1.0.2 it will brick it. THANks ahead for ur help!
