I have a 2g iphone and I am trying to upgrade firmware to the 3.0. As requested I downloaded the following file iPhone1,2_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw.
It comes as a .zip file and when extracted in cannot find a .ipsw file in the folder. Any ideas why I cannot see that file. Can't get past the system restore without it.

I know this thread was on here before. I would say search but I have no idea what to search for.

And, i forgot how i fixed this problem.

Are you downloading this file direct via Safari? I found that whenever I downloaded a Restore.ipsw using Safari it makes it a zip file of some corrupted sorts.

After reading around it seems browser based. Try downloading the file again using Firefox. It should download correctly and be a straight up .ipsw file for you to use, no unzipping necessary.

You should be using 1,1 not 1,2.

Also as mentioned above. Rename the .zip to .ispw

Tks I will try with one of my other browsers tonight.
