Help - Which imac is faster

I have to decide between these two options:
1. imac 27" i7 2.93Ghz with 8GB memory
2. imac 21.5" i5 3.6Ghz with 16GB memory

Which of the two will be a faster machine? Thank you.

I would be comparing processors more than ram here. Upgrading the ram isn't extremely expensive.
the 21.5" with the i5 gets 6829 on geekbench, similar to a 2011 macbook pro.
whereas the 27" gets over 9000.

Which will be faster or how fast 21.5'' will be?

First you need to decide about the size then you can compare i3 to i5 (there is no option for i7 in 21.5'')

It all depends on what your doing, tell us what you plan on doing with it then it will be easier to answer, for example. If your editing full 1080p HD movie, go for the 27" i7, the graphics card is better, has twice the HDD space, and 8Gb ram is all you need, 16Gb is kinda too much, it's not like you need 16Gb for most peoples daily use.. Hell.. I'm running a computer atm with 1.5Gb ram, and it's doing me just fine for everything.

Thank you all! I'm doing a lot of photo editing, heavy jpg and nef(nikon) files, sometimes up to 30MB each, but no video. Aside from this, office apps like word and the usual internet surfing includes video watching.

You should look for a 700mhz iMac G4, that will be powerful enough for what you describe.
