I bought CS5 Master Collection JUST so I could have After Effects CS5 for school. I have a mac mini w/snow leopard that I can NOT get to boot with 64 bit capability. I need help. I did the 6 and the 4 hold down which some of you say worked for you. No go here. Can anyone help me please?? I spent alot of money and would've just stayed with CS4 if I knew about this hassle before hand. Seems like SOMEBODY at Adobe coulda mentioned this problem.... and WHY is there a 32 bit support workaround for Windows only???:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard can run 64-bit applications like AE in 64-bit while using the 32-bit kernel. You don't need to boot the 64-bit kernel for running 64-bit applications, only if you want to address more than 16GB of RAM, which you currently can't. Therefore running the Mac mini normally with the 32-bit kernel will allow you to run 64-bit applications and address more than 4GB of RAM.

Hi dkinhb,
here is a shot of my Mini Activity Monitor.
As you can see there are most applications & extensions running in 64-bits and some in 32-bits...:
