I saw a listing for a 2.2 MBP that was really cheap and I went for it, paid €30 for it. seller said that it works fine apart from some keys not working on the keyboard. is that a known issue? I'm fine with it regardless, it's mostly for collecting purposes but I'd like to get it working properly.

That would be the 15" Core 2 Duo released in 2006, discontinued in 2007, right? Keyboard failure is not a common problem with this model. My guess is either:

1. junk between the keys, causing problems. Remove with compressed air.
2. Worn out cable. It may need to be replaced.

iFixIt has a good repair guide. You can find it at

yes that's the model. I don't have it yet but it's the 2.16ghz one, the base tier. with 2gb of ram and a 120gb hdd. the seller had about this Mac screenshots in the listing that's how I know. anyways I'll be sure to check for crap under the keys once I get it. thank you!

2.2GHz or 2,2 MBP? There is a difference. Anyways, if the keys are busted, take a look at iFixit. They have replacement keyboards.
